Thomas the cat is lucky to that there are people like Tracy in the world. Thomas, a handsome grey cat with bright green eyes, was left to fend for himself in the outside world when his previous owners moved away. Not only did they leave social, friendly Thomas outside, they gave him little chance of survival.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden passing of David Middlesworth, one of RedRover’s Board of Directors, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014. David was a celebrated animal advocate who served as RedRover’s Board Chair for many years and was the founder of V-dog, a plant-based dog food company. Please join us in sending our condolences to Linda Middlesworth, his loving wife and best friend of 51 years, and their family and friends. He will be remembered for his kindness, compassion, sense of humor and warm smile.
Newly trained volunteers often ask, “How long will it be before I receive a deployment request?” Well, for six newly trained volunteers, the answer was: five days! On July 12, RedRover held a training workshop in Kennesaw, Georgia, and then just five days later, we received a deployment request from officials in Cherokee County, one county over from the workshop location. Six of the volunteers who had attended the workshop signed up to help.
