Victory in New Hampshire! A state Senate panel has approved a measure that includes pets in domestic violence protective orders! New Hampshire is now the 27th state looking to include pets in protective orders for victims of domestic violence or stalking. Congratulations New Hampshire! We hope this will encourage more states to consider passing similar measures to protect pets and their families!
Do you remember ever being on a ramen noodle-and-pizza kind of budget? College students Katelyn and Katie do, but regardless of their tight budget, they’re determined to do anything to keep their cat, Sarkozy, happy and safe. Katelyn and Katie think of Sarkozy as more than just a pet – they consider her part of the family. “Sarkozy is my life, I love her so much and I hate seeing her in pain,” Katelyn told us.

If you have ever lost yourself in a good book – where you feel you are in the mind of the characters, feeling what they are feeling – you would not be surprised to discover that reading high quality literature is linked to an increased Theory of Mind (the ability to understand others’ mental states) and empathy. Last October, an exciting article came out in The New York Times that demonstrates this phenomenon.
Beginning Monday morning, as the deadly tornadoes struck the regions of the South and Midwest including Arkansas, Oklahoma and Iowa, RedRover Emergency Services Manager Beth Gammie has been reaching out to offer RedRover Responders' support to our partners and animal shelters in the area.
RedRover Responders stands at the ready to provide animal emergency sheltering assistance for animals displaced by the Arkansas and south-central United States tornadoes. Here is a list of currently available animal emergency shelters and resources.
