A young On-Call Angel shares her feelings on giving

Melissa Emerzian wanted to teach her nine-year-old daughter, Kate, the importance of giving back to the community, so she and Kate joined RedRover’s family of On-Call Angels in 2015. After reviewing several RedRover Relief cases, Kate got to choose the pet she wanted to personally help.

Lifesaving help for 87-year-old Sammy the Tortoise

Cat has dedicated her life to rescuing and caring for abused and neglected animals. So when she heard that Sammy, an 87-year-old desert tortoise, needed a new home, she couldn’t turn him away. Although it’s difficult to know exactly what his life has been like throughout his many years, the damage to his shell was clearly an indication of abuse.

An angel gives Nike a second chance

In some cases, a special donation is needed to save an animal’s life. This is when we call upon our On-Call Angels.

When Nike, a one-year-old pit bull, swallowed a foreign object and needed urgent surgery to resection his intestines, his family was heartbroken. They didn’t have the funds to pay in full for the procedure, and they couldn’t imagine life without him.

Thanks to you, Kizzy can walk and play again

Lauren got attached to Kizzy the pit bull long before Kizzy became a part of Lauren’s family. Kizzy originally belonged to Lauren’s neighbor, who didn't take very good care of her. Five months earlier, Kizzy had escaped from her neighbor’s yard and was hit by a car, but Kizzy never received treatment. After months of pleading, Lauren finally convinced her neighbor to allow her to adopt Kizzy, and the first thing she did was take her to the vet.
