Left to fend for himself, Thomas the cat finds a forever family

Thomas the cat is lucky to that there are people like Tracy in the world. Thomas, a handsome grey cat with bright green eyes, was left to fend for himself in the outside world when his previous owners moved away. Not only did they leave social, friendly Thomas outside, they gave him little chance of survival.

When you move to a brand new city, it’s normal to feel some fear and anxiety. But when Robin*, a long-time cat lover, moved to a new city in Michigan with her husband, all she began to experience was fear. Her abusive husband became increasingly violent. Robin feared that her abuser would retaliate her young cats, CJ and Sam, if she left them behind.

Beacon of Hope Center for Women, Inc., a domestic violence shelter in Indianapolis, Indiana, is committed to keeping families safe, including family members of furry nature.

Heather, a fellow supporter, was especially inspired by the way our RedRover community came together to help Reiki. You see, Heather has her own incredible rescue story, and she knows how much it means when the community rallies together to support a family in need.

New Hampshire Senate votes to include pets in domestic violence protection orders

Victory in New Hampshire! A state Senate panel has approved a measure that includes pets in domestic violence protective orders! New Hampshire is now the 27th state looking to include pets in protective orders for victims of domestic violence or stalking. Congratulations New Hampshire! We hope this will encourage more states to consider passing similar measures to protect pets and their families!

Happy Ending: Sarkozy

Do you remember ever being on a ramen noodle-and-pizza kind of budget? College students Katelyn and Katie do, but regardless of their tight budget, they’re determined to do anything to keep their cat, Sarkozy, happy and safe. Katelyn and Katie think of Sarkozy as more than just a pet – they consider her part of the family. “Sarkozy is my life, I love her so much and I hate seeing her in pain,” Katelyn told us.
