Helping a community care for its animals

Last week, RedRover Responders volunteers answered a call for help to care for 190 cats, 11 dogs and various livestock at a shelter in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Our team was invited by American Humane Association to provide the loving animal care we’re known for – plus some much-needed elbow grease to clean, disinfect and repair the shelter so it could continue to be a resource for the community’s animals.

Hundreds of dogs, enough love to go around

At a temporary shelter in the southeastern United States, hundreds of dogs are receiving loving care and medical attention, perhaps for the first time in their lives, after their rescue from the second largest criminal dogfighting ring in the history of the United States.

Such a high-profile criminal case requires extreme discretion by everyone involved, including the seven RedRover Responders volunteers who were asked to deploy to the temporary shelter managed by the ASPCA.

Volunteer finds place in home and heart for two rescued dogs

This past August, RedRover sent a team of volunteers to South Carolina to help care for more than 100 dogs who had been rescued from a puppy mill. One of the volunteers, Pamela Keefe, became particularly attached to two of the dogs, Marley and Cynthia, and returned to the shelter after they became available to adopt the two Shih Tzus.
