Earlier in 2014, RedRover Responders volunteers deployed to Preston County, West Virginia, to help dogs rescued from an alleged puppy mill. Volunteers set up and maintained the temporary shelter, caring for the dogs while helping the local community.
RedRover Responders volunteers are on the ground helping to care for more than 135 dogs rescued from a Jackson County, West Virginia puppy mill. Watch this video from WOWKTV.com for the update:
Meet Luna. This dainty Chinese crested mix was rescued from a suspected puppy mill in Preston County, West Virginia, in April. Your support helped give Luna a successful new start at life.
In July 2014, RedRover assisted the Cherokee County Animal Shelter with the sheltering and care of more than 350 dogs rescued from a suspected Georgia puppy mill. We want to say thank you to all our RedRover Responders volunteers and generous supporters for making this deployment possible!
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans on August 29, 2005, thousands of human and animal lives were changed forever. Through Katrina, one of the largest natural disasters in world history, we saw some of the greatest stories of animal survival.
In January 2013, RedRover Responders volunteers deployed the Silver Springs area in Florida at the request of the Forest Animal Rescue by Peace River Refuge & Ranch to help with the relocation of over 130 animals from the wildlife sanctuary. Newly trained volunteers often ask, “How long will it be before I receive a deployment request?” Well, for six newly trained volunteers, the answer was: five days! On July 12, RedRover held a training workshop in Kennesaw, Georgia, and then just five days later, we received a deployment request from officials in Cherokee County, one county over from the workshop location. Six of the volunteers who had attended the workshop signed up to help.
When RedRover Responders volunteers arrived in the Estrie region of Quebec to help care for rescued puppy mill dogs, they knew they were going to be able to give them a fresh start.
