Did you know? Kind News™ magazine has been in existence for a whopping 40 years! Since RedRover adopted publication of the magazine six years ago, we’ve heard from countless educators about the impact the magazine has on the children they work with.
Just this past May, we surveyed our paper and digital subscribers and found that:
But the story doesn’t end there. Teachers from all over the country told us the difference that Kind News has made in their classrooms, and credited the magazine with helping children build compassion towards animals and be excited to learn about them:
“When we started reading Kind News, my students found a new spark to caring for animals. We had so many interesting conversations on topics about the articles we read…Students learned about the responsibilities of different animals and how to care for them. Kind News should be in every classroom!”
– Elizabeth Quinones, fourth-grade teacher, Brownsville, TX
“My students are so engaged in the articles and love trying to guess the mystery animals! We had so much fun with the groundhog issue that we built an entire unit on it in February. The kids had a blast learning about groundhogs because of what we read in Kind News.”
– first-grade teacher, Buffalo, WY
“My students enjoy reading, hearing, seeing and connecting with students like them, and most importantly, learning how to respect and love animals. Many of my students may never visit a zoo or an animal sanctuary, and Kind News has brought this unique experience to them!”
– Pam Ellis, K-4 teacher, Joliet, IL
“My students look forward to every Kind News issue! They also show so much more compassion for animals around them in the school building and outside at recess. This is such a wonderful magazine!”
– Mrs. Simons, third-grade teacher, Columbia, SC
“After we read Kind News, I had a group of students who requested to create a club: ARC (Animal Rights Club). The students and I met several times a week to participate in learning how to make toys and blankets for shelter animals and host fundraisers. It was heartwarming to see how this group of students was affected by the stories we were reading!”
