This year’s group of fourth grade students decided to continue the “Pops for Pups” legacy and also participate in the On-Call Angel program. Anika’s class, once again, planned, advertised, sold lollipops, collected and counted money, and successfully raised enough funds to save a dog named Kush. Anika’s students are truly superheroes for animals!
Anika’s class and Westmore Oaks’ Vice Principal, Eric Westberg, invited RedRover to the presentation of the check for the funds that were raised. RedRover’s Program Assistant and Kush’s case manager, Jessica Hintz, was there to accept the check and share more about Kush’s story with the students. Westmore Oaks not only participated in the On-Call Angel program, but also in the RedRover Readers program! Anika’s fourth graders and two other Westmore Oaks classes listened to stories about animals and engaged in discussions and activities in the RedRover Readers program that help promote empathy.
RedRover would like to give a big, warm thank you to Westmore Oaks Elementary for welcoming us to your campus and for your dedication to animals. Also, a very special thank you to the 23 On-Call Angels in Anika’s class. People like you make the world a more compassionate place!
