Your recurring support was lifesaving for Yang, Clarisa’s baby boy, and big brother to his fellow feline sister. When he was diagnosed with a large, painful bladder stone, the first thing he needed was emergency treatment. The second thing was a FurEver Friend.
“Yang is more than just a pet to me. He’s like my baby, my constant companion. For the past three years, I’ve dedicated myself to giving him the best life possible, from showering him with love and toys to building an outdoor cage so he can enjoy fresh air safely. Every day with Yang is a gift. He’s brought me comfort and happiness during some of the hardest times in my life.”
Because they were so bonded, Clarisa noticed Yang’s unusual litter box activity right away. It would be the beginning of two long, scary weeks for this pet family.
“My cat has been sick for over two weeks. I noticed him repeatedly straining in the litter box, so I suspected constipation so they gave him IV fluids and prescribed a laxative. The veterinarian performed bloodwork, a urinalysis, and took an X-ray. They found that my cat is mostly urinating blood and has a large stone in his bladder. He received another antibiotic shot, and I was instructed to switch him to prescription cat food. They explained that my cat will need surgery.”
It hurt not to be able to pay for his treatment immediately, but the prospect of losing Yang was devastating. Her only hope would be to find someone who could help, who understood that this wasn’t just about saving a life – it was about saving a family.
“I am currently facing significant financial challenges. The most recent natural disaster in my area caused my workplace to close for several days, which worsened my situation. I haven’t been able to make payments for weeks. I’m normally diligent about paying my bills, but I’ve been focused on trying to figure out what’s wrong with my cat, and now I’m struggling to afford the care he needs.
“Seeing the change in him because of this illness breaks my heart. I just want to save my baby and give him the care he needs. This isn’t just about medical care – it’s about saving a family member who means the world to me and his sister. Losing him would be devastating, not just for me, but for the little family we’ve built together. Please help me give him the chance to keep thriving in the loving home he deserves.”
FurEver Friends understand that pets are family, and your recurring support made the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant that protected this family possible. Back home from a successful surgery and with his new prescription diet, Yang is happily greeting Clarisa in the morning once again.
“Yang is doing well! I am keeping the collar on him for an extra week because he still has a scab on his abdomen that he tends to lick too much, so I didn’t want to risk removing it too early. Thank you again for all your help!”
Thank you for keeping families like Clarisa and Yang together and making a lifesaving difference when they need it most!
