“Thank you for bringing Nylah from crisis to care!”
One-year-old bulldog Nylah meant the world to her mom Nidia. In the hot summer weather, Nylah enjoyed sprawling on the cold stones outside their home, taking in the sights of the neighborhood while staying as cool as possible.
When Nidia noticed that Nylah seemed to be having difficulty urinating, Nidia took her to the veterinarian, where she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection and given antibiotics. When the problem didn’t go away, the veterinarian prescribed a second round of medication. However, the second course didn’t do the trick either, and Nylah soon found herself back at the veterinary clinic.
That day, their veterinarian ran more tests on Nylah and soon after, diagnosed her with pyometra, a life-threatening uterine infection. To save Nylah’s life, she would need an emergency spay surgery to remove her uterus and resolve the infection.
By the time Nylah had been diagnosed with pyometra, Nidia was already overextended financially by Nylah’s multiple visits to the veterinarian, the bloodwork, and multiple rounds of antibiotics. After searching online for programs to assist with Nylah’s spay surgery, Nidia applied for the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant to help pay for the procedure. After their grant was approved, Nylah underwent her spay surgery in the nick of time and came through it like a champ! She was sent home to recover, and after a quiet couple of weeks with Nidia, she was back to her old self.
Thank you for making many more years of memories possible for beloved pups like Nylah!
