Chris Lambert is a charismatic leader and do-gooder in Knoxville, Tennessee. The youngest President of the Rotary Club of Knoxville, the oldest and largest civic organization in Knoxville, this inspiring man is going out of his way to connect the Kind News™ team to organizations in his area to help spread Kind News magazine’s reach. RedRover’s Karly Noel recently asked Chris why he chose to help bring Kind News to his community:
“The Rotary Club of Knoxville was founded in 1915 with a ‘Service Above Self’ motto. To me, the motto means to help those in need and by doing so, providing them with the tools for a better life. We are placing the needs of others and the betterment of the community before personal gain or ambition.
“I value being a part of a historic and influential club focused on celebrating the past and making an impact long-term. The dedication of the 160 club members is what motivates me. Each member is committed to give in their own way through the numerous programs within our club. I give my all for the Club, and I am grateful for the membership’s dedication to making our community a better place for all.
“I first heard about Kind News from my friends Janet and Ewin Jenkins. They shared their support of Sevier County Humane Society (SCHS) during a visit in 2024. This conversation caught my interest since my wife, son, and I are the grateful ‘parents’ of a rescue Schnauzer mix named Bea. SCHS is leading the charge for regional growth of this program to reach East Tennessee classrooms. Since literacy empowerment was soon to be a focus of mine as President of Rotary, I suggested to Janet we look to get Kind News to talk to our club. I was then immediately invested in helping the cause. I am hopeful the area schools and organizations find interest in engaging with Kind News.
“I love animals, with past pets to include a leopard gecko, hermit crabs, a Cockatiel, rescue dogs and even two Pekin ducks in college! Kind News has an intentional focus to spread the importance of how to be kind to animals and people. I was impressed with the creative articles in each publication. This was fuel for my focus to introduce Kind News to my network with the hope children in our community can experience Kind News and spread kindness.”
