Did you know that organizations and individuals around the country bring Kind News magazine, RedRover’s animal publication for kids, to children in their communities? Listen to this clip from our webinar “Inspiring Kids to Be Kind with Kind News” from Alyssa Vincent, Humane Education Program Manager at Napa Humane Society, as she describes the direct impact the magazine has on children in her classroom visits.
“The whole classroom participates [with Kind News]…you’re getting so much more interaction from the kids…it’s great to see their little faces brighten up! We host a low-cost vaccine clinic…our clinic team has noted that kids will tell them, ‘I get this magazine and I know [about this topic]…the kids really retain the information…the more education we can give these kids, the safer they are going to be around animals and the more likely these animals are going to stay in their homes.”
As Napa Humane’s very first Humane Education Manager, Alyssa has been training dogs for 15 years. With a Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed qualification from the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers (CCPDT), she is dedicated to animal behavior and education.
