Creating a kind school year for kids everywhere takes a village! There are animal-loving educators and parents and grandparents who take RedRover Readers trainings, humane societies, women’s clubs, and individuals who provide Kind News™ magazine subscriptions, teachers who use Kind News to lead humane lessons, and families who discuss articles at home. Join us in spreading kindness to the children you know!
Get kids crafting: Kids might miss their pets after they go out the door each morning, but you can leave plenty for them to do with our DIY enrichment ideas from our Kind News magazine archives: “3 Ways to Keep Bored Dogs Busy,”“Happy at Home,” and “Cat Enrichment Ideas.” For more kid- and pet-friendly tips, follow Kind News magazine on Facebook and Instagram.
Send kindness to class: Back to school means back to Kind News for hundreds of thousands of children who love animals and love to learn about them! Last spring, teachers told us that our little magazine with a big heart inspired more caring attitudes and behaviors in their students. While the September/October issue has been bundled up for schools and homes, it’s not too late to sign up a classroom or child with our next issues! Don’t know a child or teacher? You can sponsor a classroom on our waiting list by completing the form here.
New to Kind News? Our Sept/Oct 2020 Humane Hero, Ethan Branscum explains it here:
Give good books: Story is a wonderful way to inspire animal-loving kids and provide a new narrative to those who’ve witnessed neglect or abuse. Check out our Recommended Book list for titles like Buddy Unchained by Daisy Bix, the story of a dog who’s gone from neglected pup to pampered pet. Take it a step further by getting trained in leading discussions with children around quality humane-themed literature, and take the Readers On-Demand Workshop. A RedRover Readers training covers the steps of empathy, questions that inspire critical thinking and discussion around animal-related social and emotional issues, and implementation of discussion guides.
Empower empathy, connection, and literacy in children inside the classroom and out with the RedRover Readers program and Kind News magazine!
