You saved Joe’s life!

Joe was the smallest of five kittens when Karen rescued the whole litter from an abandoned barn and adopted them into her family. As a single mom working three jobs, Karen is so grateful for the joy the cats bring to her and her son, especially when things get tough. So when Joe – who grew up to be the most playful and loving of the bunch – developed a urinary blockage and desperately needed to be hospitalized, Karen scraped together the funds to begin treatment.
But after his treatment began, Joe needed to remain hospitalized for days to ensure he did not re-block. Karen was running out of financial options, so she did some research and applied for a RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant. She was quickly approved for a grant, which meant Joe could remain hospitalized and receive the lifesaving treatment he needed. Joe was able to make a complete recovery. After a few days, he was back to being his playful self with Karen and her son!
