When Jack was diagnosed with a ruptured disc in his back, his owners were informed that surgery within 48 hours would give him the best chance of recovery. Rachel and Todd were living paycheck-to-paycheck, and even after clearing out their savings, asking family and friends for help, and maxing out their credit cards, they were still shy of their fundraising goal to pay for the surgery that their dear Jack so urgently needed. With the clock ticking, Rachel and Todd submitted an application for a RedRover Relief grant to help pay for Jack’s surgery. Thanks to extra help from one of RedRover’s newest On-Call Angels named Suzanne, Jack received a $400 grant (twice the size of a normal RedRover Relief grant) and, more importantly, the urgent treatment needed to save his life. Jack’s family was extremely grateful for the support. “We are blown away by the generosity of complete strangers, kind enough to help a dog they don’t even know!” Rachel and Todd added, “We are so glad that there are organizations like RedRover out there to help pets and families in situations like ours. We would have had to surrender Jack or put him down if it weren’t for the help that we received.” Today, Jack is doing well and is making strides toward daily recovery. Rachel and Todd continue to do physical therapy at home with him, and Jack is now able to enjoy short walks. “Thanks again for all the support and assistance. We have our best furry friend still because of all of you!”
