Collaborative Care To Heal Devastated Community
Butte County, CA (November 16, 2018) RedRover Responders volunteers will be on the ground November 19 – 24 to help North Valley Animal Disaster Group (NVADG) provide daily care for hundreds of animals displaced by the Camp Fire, the deadliest fire in California’s history. RedRover will be at one of the three NVADG emergency animal shelters where teams are caring for more than 1,800 animals in total.
RedRover will send five RedRover Responders volunteers to help walk, feed, clean and care for these animals. The RedRover Responders volunteers are traveling from across California to help during this unprecedented crisis.
“RedRover Responders are dedicated to helping these poor animals recover from this horrifying experience,” said RedRover Director of Field Services, Beth Gammie. “We will continue to provide soft hands and warm hearts when animals are in pain and work collaboratively with agencies to help animals recover from trauma.”
Additionally, RedRover offers urgent care grants for emergency veterinary care to pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations. Applications are accepted online at https://redrover.org/relief/.
Distinguished by their red shirts, RedRover Responders volunteers are a compassionate workforce specially trained to care for and shelter large numbers of animals after they have been rescued from natural disasters or cruelty and neglect cases.
