RedRover Readers teacher training helps educators develop critical thinking skills in students
October 1, 2013 – RedRover, a national nonprofit organization based in Sacramento, California, is offering a unique online training opportunity for educators who want to foster empathy and help children develop critical thinking skills using the RedRover Readers curriculum. Humane Literacy: Promoting Empathy, Critical Thinking and Language Skills in the Classroom is a three-week, self-paced course, presented by the Humane Society University.
The RedRover Readers curriculum, which is aligned to academic content standards, helps children explore the bond between people and animals through stories and discussion. Teachers receive a free book for completing the online, self-paced training course.
“What a powerful and relevant program! This is a perfect example of what effective teacher trainings and professional development should be. Every educator and professional who works with children should be required to take this course!” – Susan Courtney, teacher, Los Angeles, California
“It was nice to connect with other educators around the country that share a similar interest and passion. In my school I am the only one who feels strongly about humane education. I really appreciate the resources provided.” – Anonymous teacher
