RedRover Relief

Urgent Care grants

The RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant program provides financial assistance, resources, and emotional support for pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations.

The average grant is around $250, and is intended to fill a small gap in funding that is keeping an animal from care.

The RedRover Relief Urgent Care program will be temporarily closed to new applications for the remainder of 2024. We will reopen and begin accepting new applications in mid-January 2025.

Steps to Apply

Are you eligible?

If an animal is in need of immediate care, where any delay will put the animal at risk, it is the owner's responsibility to seek care for the animal immediately. There is no guarantee that the Urgent Care grant program will be able to provide financial assistance.

Basic guidelines to apply:

  • You must be seeking assistance for one animal with a life-threatening injury or illness that requires urgent and specific treatment.
  • There must be a current diagnosis and treatment plan from a veterinarian. RedRover cannot pay for office exams or testing.
If we know that the proposed care is available in your area at a much lower cost, we may ask that you reach out to other clinics for an estimate. If you choose to stay at a more expensive veterinarian when there are lower cost alternatives RedRover may not be able to provide funding assistance. (example: Staying at an ER vet for care that can safely be provided at a general practice vet.)
  • Treatment must have a good or favorable outcome.
  • Household income cannot exceed $60,000 per year
  • Both the applicant and the animal must live in the United States.
  • Please note that this statement will apply to anyone approved for Urgent Care funding: I understand and acknowledge that RedRover may use any images or videos I have shared for their own purposes, including, but not limited to, educational, promotional, and fundraising purposes. I authorize RedRover to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these photos for any lawful purpose. Upon request, RedRover will change identifying information.

Please make sure that you have given permission to your veterinary office to release information to RedRover. Being unable to receive information about your pet from the veterinary office can delay or prevent our assistance.

RedRover cannot help if any of the following are true:

  • The animal has received most or all of their treatment.
  • An Urgent Care grant has already been awarded to you or your household for this, or any other, animal.
  • The animal’s needs are for:
    • ongoing conditions or treatments (such as chemotherapy/radiation, special diets, Cushing's)
    • testing or diagnostic work (such as X-rays, MRI, or blood work)
    • routine care (such as non-emergency spay/neuter, vaccinations, or annual exams)
    • a follow-up visit after main treatment is done
  • If your funding need far exceeds our average grant size RedRover may not be able to assist

IF your application DOES NOT meet our eligibility guidelines you may only receive one email response from RedRover.
