I am here on the ground in Vero Beach, Florida, along with volunteer Team Leader Andy Bass, helping take care of dogs rescued from the dog meat trade in South Korea. The Humane Society of Vero Beach is graciously hosting these dogs, and is even taken on placing approximately 20 of these dogs.
Joe was the smallest of five kittens when Karen rescued the whole litter from an abandoned barn and adopted them into her family. As a single mom working three jobs, Karen is so grateful for the joy the cats bring to her and her son, especially when things get tough.

Have you ever noticed that when you think about something often enough, you start seeing examples of it everywhere? For instance, when I was trying to decide if I should sell my old red Honda Accord, I saw that car everywhere I went...or when I was pregnant and it seemed like the only people out and about were mothers with their young babies.
It’s the season of giving, and books can be a magical way to share the gifts of awareness and empathy. The RedRover staff has come together to compile a list of our favorite books that would make great gifts. We hope you and the loved ones on your gift list enjoy RedRover’s recommended books!

Today I witnessed something beautiful. I visit elementary schools often in my role at RedRover, but this time was different. This time I experienced more than just story sharing and thoughtful students commenting about helping others. Today I saw the power that children have to warm the hearts of adults and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
