Join us on March 19, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. PT as we officially wrap up our 25 by 2025 campaign in a virtual discussion. We look forward to sharing highlights and successes from the campaign, and, most importantly, how RedRover and Greater Good Charities will continue the critical work of keeping domestic violence (DV) survivors and their pets safe and together.
With 97% of survivors reporting that keeping their pets with them factored into their decision to seek shelter, while 72% were unaware that some shelters accept pets (PALS Report), we know that pet programming is vital for the safety of survivors and their pets.
Since launching in 2023, the campaign has focused on ensuring that 25% of DV shelters in the U.S. are pet-friendly by the end of 2025, centered on raising awareness and building support so more survivors and their pets can find safety and healing together. We know there are many reasons a survivor may delay leaving an abuser, but pets don’t need to be one of them.
We’ll share with you where the movement started and where it is now. And, how you can help continue the momentum moving forward.
In the meantime, we invite you to share with us why you believe we need to provide housing programming for the pets of people experiencing domestic violence: Why is keeping survivors and their pets safe and together important to you? Click here to submit your answer >>
