Beloved pomeranian Leila had grown up alongside her owner Julie’s three sons:
“Her and my oldest son are 8 months apart in age at 12 years old. They are best friends and she is the overseer of all of my boys. I work from home and she sits in her mini recliner next to me all day. She’s been there for all my kiddos, multiple house moves, a divorce and so much more. She’s my smile.”
One day, Leila refused to go outside for a bathroom break, and Julie was concerned. When she started overgrooming herself, Julie knew it was time to take her to the vet. At the vet, Leila was diagnosed with pyometra, a serious infection in her uterus. She would need surgery to remove her uterus, but as a single mom of three kids, Julie knew she would need some help paying for the procedure needed to save Leila’s life.
After Julie’s veterinarian told her about the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant, Julie applied and received help paying for Leila’s surgery. After her surgery, Leila was sent home to recover on her cozy recliner, with lots of snuggles from her three human brothers. Thank you for supporting RedRover and helping to make happy tails like Leila’s possible!
