The 25 by 2025 Movement – getting ready to launch!

Have you taken the 25 by 2025 pledge yet?? If not, please visit 25by2025.org and join the movement today! Our goal is to help 25% of domestic violence (DV) shelters become pet friendly by 2025. You can further show your support for pet-friendly spaces for survivors by visiting the website, “Taking the Pledge,” and downloading our comprehensive toolkit. The toolkit contains a plethora of resources in addition to the virtual badges, including:
- Template letters to share with local DV shelters, government officials, animal welfare advocates, and friends and family encouraging them to take specific actions to support the campaign, raise awareness for the lack of pet-friendly shelters, and consider our solutions
- Template Letters to the Editor and a newsletter article to raise awareness about the issue and encourage others to join the movement
- Template social media posts, statistics, and graphics to share on social media to raise awareness about the 25 by 2025 campaign
Additionally, the website offers:
- Five Reasons Why Shelters Should Become Pet Friendly
- Links to funding opportunities for domestic violence shelters
- Upcoming Don’t Forget The Pets workshops and more
- Blogs featuring survivors, shelters and grant opportunities
We will officially launch the campaign in early August, but thanks to PetSmart Charities’ generous support, through the pre-launch efforts we have already engaged more than 800 people through the 25by2025.org website; 37 have downloaded the toolkit, 363 have taken a pledge, and 446 have signed up for our e-newsletter to stay informed on the progress of the campaign!
