Domestic Violence Awareness Month 2021 Recap

Every October we honor Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), and this year we were busier than ever raising awareness about our programs and the need for pet-friendly domestic violence shelters. Here’s a recap:

Our Purple Leash Project partnership with Purina gained massive publicity through our PLP celebrity spokesperson, Tamron Hall, and her multiple media appearances. She was featured in Yahoo The Unwind, NBCLX (NBC’s streaming broadcast outlet), and dozens of other outlets.
During this DVAM, the generosity of our supporters was remarkable: 216 new monthly donors contributed $2,011 in new monthly giving, and an additional 414 donors contributed $28,336 in one-time donations toward the Purple Leash Project. Thank you for helping pets and families find safety, together!
