For the third year in a row, Anika Swisher-Shukuya’s third-grade class has participated in RedRover’s On-Call Angel Classroom program. They selected RedRover for their Pops for Pups fundraiser, and their generous donation was used to help a puppy named Pisto and a kitten named Captain Jorge receive the urgent veterinary care they needed.
In response to the kids’ heartwarming letters, Captain Jorge’s mom wrote a playful letter of thanks:
Hola estudiantes de Westmore!
I’m the handsome Jorge you all have been hearing about! Well, my mom prefers cute until at least I turn 1 😉
Your Easter Holiday sounded fun! I had some eggs to play with and I got a new toy!
I prefer lounging on my window balcony, soaking up the sun. Currently, I am trying to learn to speak “bird.” If I do say so myself, I am pretty good.
I’ve been hoping to meet new people, and now I received my first letters!!! Sacramento seems so nice! Closer to the ocean than Ohio, maybe I can visit and practice being a pirate for real!
I thankfully, no longer have the cone! It did look a little like a halo, it got in the way sometimes. I had to wear the cone to keep my boo boo dry. (I love to lick my fur). I am an active cat and love to exercise… You see I was practicing for American Ninja Feline and couldn’t make the warp wall and slipped and hurt my leg. 🙁 On the bright side I have some metal rods in my leg that make me BIONIC KITTY!
I do love flowers and butterflies too but mostly birds!
My favorite color is red, like a hot chili pepper!
My name was Captain Hook when I was adopted by my mommy. But we wanted something unique, and we picked Jorge.
I was adopted by a woman named Maggie! She works with kids like you!
Love,
Jorge
