RedRover Responders volunteers are being deployed to provide emergency sheltering for animals displaced by the fires in Northern California. Here is a list of currently available emergency animal shelters and resources in both California and Canada.

How to help/Donations needed
- From the Daily Democrat: Cash donations are being asked for the North Valley Animal Disaster Group, 895-0000 or P.O. Box 441, Chico, CA, 95927, which was taking care of animals sheltering, and also for the Salvation Army, which was helping with meals.

- Shelter for large animals – From County of Santa Barbara: People with questions or in need of assistance evacuating large animals, including horses, can call the hotline: 805-681-4332

ALAMO FIRE

- Santa Barbara Animal Services – Residents are instructed to call before bringing any animals to shelter: 805-681-4332.
- Shelter for small animals – From County of Santa Barbara: Call ahead, but small animals are being taken to Santa Maria Animal Center, 548 W. Foster Rd., Santa Maria.
- Shelter for large animals – Residents are instructed to call before bringing any animals to shelter: 805-681-4332. Elks Rodeo grounds: 4040 Highway 1, Santa Maria, CA.
- RedRover Relief: Financial assistance grants for emergency veterinary care. Applications accepted online.
BRITISH COLUMBIA FIRES – ANIMAL AID

- Evacuees with livestock or other large animals: 1-866-377-7188
- BC’s Emergency Livestock/Animal Evacuation Group

To support residents that have been evacuated, plans have been put into place for livestock and pets.
- Residents that have been evacuated from the North Thompson area should bring their livestock to the Barriere Fall Fair Grounds.
- Residents that have been evacuated from the areas around Ashcroft and Cache Creek should bring their livestock to the BC Livestock Producers Co-operative Association yard at 10145 Dallas Drive in Kamloops.
- If evacuees have household pets that need housing, Canadian Disaster Animal Response Team (CDART) is setting up an animal reception centre at 5 Star Dog Training facility at 340D – 12th Avenue, Kamloops, BC. The reception centre will be open on Saturday evening.
- Residents that have any questions or require assistance with their livestock or household pets should call the TNRD Emergency Operations Centre at 1-866-377-7188.
