This month, RedRover is continuing the campaign to help people take better care of their pets by preventing and preparing for future veterinary emergencies. You can join this campaign by taking the #IHeartMyPet pledge today >>
Each year, RedRover receives thousands of applications from desperate animal-lovers looking for financial assistance for their animals. Many animal health issues that are costly to treat (such as dental and skin issues, heartworm, pyometra, distemper and parvovirus) can be prevented through routine care, but many people are not aware of preventive care options or how costly treatment can be after it’s too late.
While RedRover will continue to be there for animals in crisis when they need us most, we also want to prevent crises by empowering people be proactive in their pets’ health. We know RedRover supporters care about their pets’ health, so we need YOUR help to educate more pet owners about keeping their companions safe and healthy.
RedRover is working with CA legislators to make January 2016 Pet Care Education Month! The resolution, ACR-9, sponsored by Assemblyman Kevin McCarty, was passed in the CA Assembly on January 15. In addition, throughout January, we will work with veterinary offices, organizations and our supporters to help spread the word about the importance of preventative health care for pets. You can help by reaching out to your veterinarian and asking them to give free initial wellness exams to first-time clients. If they want us to promote their services, they can sign up to join our campaign at RedRover.org/IHeartMyPet.
You can join the campaign, too, by taking the #IHeartMyPet Pledge! Whether you pledge to start your own emergency veterinary fund for your furry family members, help your dog lose weight or schedule your cat’s dental cleaning, every #IHeartMyPet pledge spreads the commitment to preventive pet care and motivates others to take their own steps towards better pet care.
