In February 2014, Lisa and some volunteers from an animal rescue group in California finally captured Savannah, a one-year-old yellow Labrador, on the side of the road after a week-long search and rescue effort. Savannah had been hit by a car and her leg was badly injured.
Although Lisa was not looking for another dog to adopt, she knew Savannah had come into her life for a reason, and she was determined to get her the care she needed. When a veterinarian recommended a costly surgery, Lisa knew she would be unable to pay for this unexpected expense alone.
Lisa scoured the internet for help and was thrilled to learn that RedRover could provide a RedRover Relief grant towards Savannah’s treatment. The veterinarian was able to save Savannah’s leg and Lisa officially adopted Savannah into her family. She emailed us with this update: “Savannah is doing great! She is all smiles and love now. Thank you again for the donation, you have made her miracle possible.”
Update from Lisa, July 2014
I wanted to give you an update on Savannah and thank you again for helping me save her life.
Vanna as I call her is a wonderful and well adjusted, VERY spoiled girl. She is happy and healthy and learning not only home life but ranch life as well. After you helped us out I was blessed with a job at Lifesavers Wild Horse Rescue, which is about ten minutes from my house. We have about 300 horses mostly Mustangs on our property. Although she does not want to come every day, the days she does, Vanna gets to come hang out on the ranch with me. She is such a good girl! Her leg has healed and as time goes by she favors it less and less.
I am including some pictures of Vanna taken from my ranch a about a month ago and one photo of what I see when I leave for work when she decides to stay home with her sisters Jezzybelle and Boozer.
Thank you again so much! I have my best friend and Vanna has an amazing life thanks to your assistance.”
