When you support RedRover’s Safe Housing program, you help domestic violence victims like Elaine* grow from victims into survivors. She and her dogs are safe because people like you care about protecting pets and people from domestic violence.
Read what Jennifer, an advocate from Safe Harbor domestic violence shelter in Kentucky, had to say about how your support protects families and their pets:
“Elaine* was in a long-term abusive situation in western Kentucky. She would not leave her perpetrator without being able to bring her two small dogs with her; she knew he would harm them if she left.
Elaine came from western Kentucky to northeastern Kentucky to Safe Harbor because we had the closest domestic violence shelter that also offered a pet facility. She successfully completed both emergency and transitional phases, and now, she lives in a permanent apartment on Safe Harbor’s campus. Her dogs and she all are healthy and happy, plus she now has a job and is working toward getting a car.
Safe Harbor would not have been able to transform an outbuilding into a pet shelter without RedRover’s help, and we – and our residents – are eternally grateful for the organization’s help.” – Jennifer Allen, Safe Harbor
