Mystique’s Angel

When a stray black-and-white Shih Tzu mix wandered up to Belinda in a vacant lot, she had no idea how lucky her life had become. The little dog (now named Mystique) was covered in mats and debris that made it painful for her to walk and move. Belinda, a long-time animal lover, rushed Mystique to her veterinarian, where it was discovered that that her coat was so matted that the hair was pulling on her skin, causing her immense pain and leaving open wounds.

Belinda paid for all of the stray dog’s immediate medical care but was unable to afford the week-long hospital stay that Mystique needed after her treatment. Belinda applied for a RedRover Relief grant for financial help and we immediately contacted Doug, one of our  trusted On-Call Angels. With Doug’s donation, we were able to help Mystique get the care she needed.

Today, Mystique is mat-free and healthy thanks to Belinda’s caring actions, Doug’s generosity and support from RedRover followers like you.

Belinda recently shared an update about Mystique, whom she has since adopted and is now a member of Belinda’s family:

“I’ll promote RedRover to my friends because I know what a difference a RedRover Relief grant can make in having to face unexpected vet costs, which in my case, were for a dog I couldn’t even pet before your help. Thank you for your great work.”

UPDATE: Inspired by Doug’s actions and the work of RedRover Relief case managers, Belinda has decided to “pay it forward” and has joined our On-Call Angels donor program. She has committed to helping one animal in need per year.
