Thanks to your donations, Cayley, the dog with severe motor oil burns, is receiving the ongoing care she needs. Her burn wounds are healing nicely and she is recovering well in her foster home.
Cayley, a brown terrier mix, was surrendered to a North Carolina shelter by her owners who had attempted to rid her of a mange problem by pouring hot motor oil over her body. As a result, Cayley has severe burns from the back of her neck to the base of her tail. Veterinarians determined that she would need intensive recovery care that would be very expensive.
A local rescue group stepped up for Cayley, but knowing the cost of the hospital bills was beyond what they could afford, they turned to RedRover for help.
Through your support, we were able to issue a RedRover Relief grant to provide funds for Cayley’s care.
Caley will be receiving hydrotherapy, laser therapy and re-bandaging three times per week until she has fully recovered from her wounds. Though Cayley’s recovery time frame depends on her own healing process, and we estimate that she should be fully rehabilitated in approximately two months or less.
Thank you all for pulling together to help Cayley. We truly could not have done it without you!
