After losing her cherished Labrador retriever to pancreatitis, Shellie decided to bring Riley, a beautiful yellow Lab, into her life.
Riley brought Shellie a special kind of joy and comic relief that only a Lab can bring, and quickly became an adored member of her family. When Riley began having difficulty walking due to a foxtail embedded in her paw, Shellie immediately took her to the vet. The veterinarian determined that surgery was needed to remove the foxtail from Riley’s paw and so that she could walk comfortably again.
Shellie knew she was unable to afford the entire cost of surgery due to previous veterinary bills that had wiped out her savings. She reached out to RedRover for help, and we were able to provide a RedRover Relief grant for financial assistance so Riley could get the surgery she needed.
Now Riley is foxtail-free and able to run around the backyard again! Thank you to our RedRover supporters who make stories like this possible.
