Connie had never feared losing her best friend until Tripp, her handsome lynx point Siamese-mix, was having problems urinating in his litter box. Connie rushed Tripp to the vet’s office, and it was revealed that Tripp had a urinary blockage. “I was so frightened during all of it,” Connie said. “I was also worried because my income was so limited.” The pet hospital did not offer repayment plans for vet treatment, but Connie was determined to save her cat. Connie applied for a RedRover Relief grant that very evening, stating, “I filled out financial assistance applications until 4:30 a.m., never thinking this could actually help us – but what did I have to lose?”
The next morning, Connie received a call from one of RedRover’s case managers. “For the first time I had hope,” Connie told us.
With help from the RedRover Relief program and extra help from one of RedRover’s newest On-Call Angels, Kelly, Tripp was able to receive the urgent veterinary care needed to save his life. He has since fully recovered and is back to living a healthy life. Connie couldn’t be happier: “It is because of causes like yours that brighten the world for people like me.” Connie tells us, “You have a friend in me for life, and I, in turn, hope to help RedRover in the future.”
