Highlights Local Collaborations and Giving Spirit
Sacramento, CA – RedRover joined 11 other local nonprofits in the Big Day of Giving (BigDog) Block Party last night – truly an event to remember to cap off the BigDog, a 24-hour giving challenge to support local nonprofits, created by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation.
“We are so proud to be part of this giving challenge and are overwhelmed by the generosity in our community,” said Nicole Forsyth, President and CEO of RedRover. “These donations are crucial to help even more animals in crisis get the care and love they need, and give their owners peace of mind.”
RedRover helps animals and their owners through three programs – RedRover Responders, RedRover Relief and RedRover Readers. These programs are funded solely by private donations and do not receive government funding.
For this year’s BigDog, RedRover created a moving video featuring a domestic violence survivor who was helped to safety with her pets through the RedRover Relief program, in collaboration with WEAVE.
This is just one example of RedRover working with a local nonprofit to help the community.
As part of their “pawsforward” 30th Anniversary campaign, RedRover is also partnering with 916Ink to bring the “Tales for Tails #pawsforward Writing Contest” to children in the Greater Sacramento area.
Nicole went on to say, “Not only were we able to raise more than XXXX in one day to help animals who need sheltering and care, assistance with emergency medical treatment and safety from cruelty and neglect, but we were able to personally connect with the donors, fellow nonprofits and the greater community.”
The BigDog Block Party was a free event that celebrated Sacramento’s spirit of giving with games, interactive performances and prizes. RedRover displayed an interactive “#pawsforward Vision Board” showcasing how locals pledge to put their best #pawsforward for animals in the community.
