RedRover Responders volunteers provide vital care for animals across the U.S. and Canada
SACRAMENTO, CA (August 13, 2013) – RedRover®, a national nonprofit animal welfare organization, is offering a training workshop in Austin, Texas, for people who want to shelter and care for animals rescued from large cruelty situations or displaced by natural disasters.
The workshop trains RedRover Responders volunteers, who provide temporary sheltering for animals displaced by floods, fires, and other natural disasters or rescued from cruelty situations such as puppy mills and hoarding cases in the United States and Canada. RedRover Responders volunteers walk, feed and comfort animals until they can be reunited with their families, placed in foster care or adopted into new homes. After completing the training program, volunteers are eligible to deploy to situations throughout the United States and Canada.
With over 3,000 active RedRover Responders volunteers, RedRover can respond when communities become overburdened by a crisis involving a large number of animals. In the past five years alone, RedRover has deployed to over 60 emergencies and provided shelter to thousands of animals in crisis.
“RedRover Responders volunteers provide critical sheltering assistance to save animals’ lives and help a community in need,” said RedRover President and CEO Nicole Forsyth. “These services can only be provided because of dedicated and compassionate animal lovers who train at workshops like this one.”
