It’s been a busy couple of months for our domestic violence and pets assistance work, and we’re excited to share a few highlights and give you a sneak peek at some of our next stops!
RedRover was proud to join the National Organization for Victim Assistance (NOVA) in a celebration of CommUNITY for this year’s National Crime Victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) – a time to “uplift dignity, safety, and healing” across the country. As a collaborator for this year’s event, RedRover helped spread the word about the importance of recognizing the link between human and animal violence, and practical steps that organizations can take to create pet-inclusive programming – an important step in removing a barrier to safety for survivors.
The Purple Leash Project (PLP) team has also been busy: the team joined in supporting NCVRW as sponsors of the CommUNITY in Motion 5K event. Members of our RedRover team put the PLP motto, Walk – Heal – Together, to work by participating in the walk with some of our family members!
They also sponsored the Ohio State Attorney General’s Office Two Days in May conference, where members of the RedRover team presented and tabled, and attended a recent Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) tour event, raising awareness with attendees and gaining new supporters!
And there’s no stopping here! RedRover and the Purple Leash Project will be attending several upcoming events, including the Hope Alliance’s upcoming webinar on a new pets and DV toolkit, the New Jersey Coalition to End Domestic Violence and NOVA’s annual conference, and several exciting Don’t Forget the Pets workshops and guest presentations.
You’re now going to our Don’t Forget the Pets website with Greater Good Charities.
