“Lea’s smiling once again!”
After losing their senior dog that same year to kidney failure, Yorkshire terrier Lea was a great source of comfort to mom Ashly and her daughter, giving them lots of love while they grieved.
One day, Ashly noticed that Lea seemed to be in pain while eating. She took Lea to the veterinarian, who diagnosed Lea with Grade Four dental disease, the most severe level of dental disease. Lea would require several extractions to be able to eat without pain. While Ashly had been saving for Lea’s dental needs, the full cost would be too much for her to cover on her own.
Their veterinarian told the family about the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant, and Ashly applied straight away, while Lea got started on antibiotics to keep the infection at bay.
When their grant was approved, Lea underwent her dental procedure and had thirteen teeth removed during the surgery. She went home, and after one last round of antibiotics, Lea started to feel like her old self again.
Your support of RedRover does more than fund veterinary care grants – it gives pets and the people who love them more time together. Thank you for your generous support!
