“Bandit bravely protected his mom, and you stepped up for him!”
When a neighborhood dog lunged at 14-year-old Bandit and Annmarie, during a morning walk, Bandit bravely stepped in and protected his mom. One of Bandit’s legs sustained serious injuries, requiring multiple surgeries to close the wound and treat the necrosis that later developed. Annmarie was unable to find the neighborhood dog’s owner, leaving her stressed about how she would pay for the multiple surgeries Bandit needed.
After researching online, Annmarie found the RedRover Relief Urgent Care grant and applied straight away. Thanks to a generous member of our On-Call Angel program, Bandit underwent his fourth (and final) surgery, and came through it like a champ. While Bandit recovered, Annmarie shared his remarkable progress:
“Bandit is doing wonderful! I’ve been joking that he’s having his second puppyhood. He is full of energy, desperately wants to play with his doggy friends, and has been a big loverboy with nonstop cuddling. We just had a recheck with the vet, and they like how his back leg looks. It’s healing much faster than they anticipated. I think it’s all the positive energy that everyone has sent our way.
“I tell him that there are people out there who are rooting for him and supporting him. He may not know what I am saying, but in a way, he knows. To the folks who donate to these grants, I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“This grant has helped me tremendously. It’s taken a weight off my shoulders so I can focus my energy on Bandit’s recovery. If Bandit could speak, he would say thank you, but for now, he says thank you with tail wags and a big ol’ smile!”
Thank you for keeping beloved pups like Bandit with the people who love them! None of these zoomies would be possible without YOU!
