RedRover adopts Kind News Magazine from HSUS

We have some very exciting news to share! RedRover has adopted Kind Newsmagazine from The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Kind News has been a flagship of the humane education world since 1983, teaching kids—and often, their parents and teachers—more about the animals who share our world and how to care for them.

Production is already underway for the fall issue, and we plan to kick off the 2017-2018 school year with RedRover's first issue of Kind News arriving in classrooms and homes September 5-8. In the words of RedRover’s President and CEO Nicole Forsyth, “We are thrilled to be acquiring the Kind News magazine and adding this to our RedRover Readers program as another tool for helping kids understand animals better and develop stronger, more empathetic relationships. We are dedicated to delivering high quality humane-themed content."

Do you know a classroom who you’d like to sponsor and bring this valuable humane education tool to? Please call 1-877-902-9757 (toll free) or 818-487-2097 (local or international).

To better accommodate school year schedules for as many subscribers as possible, Kind News will now be delivered every two months beginning in September 2017.

Frequently Asked Questions about Kind News magazine for Kids

Kind News™ is an eight-page publication that helps children understand and respect animals and think about why treating animals and people with kindness matters. The magazine encourages both empathy and critical thinking in children by celebrating the human-animal bond and helps motivate children to take action to improve the lives of animals. Kind News uses engaging articles and short features to emphasize issues affecting animals and provide tips for understanding animal behavior and caring for pets. Its appealing design and interactive content help enhance children’s enjoyment of reading, as well as spark critical thinking and thoughtful discussion.

Kind News is aligned with national teaching standards and can be easily integrated into school curriculum. The magazine is currently available in three reading levels: Primary (grades K-2), Junior (grades 3-4) and Senior (grades 5-6). Beginning in February of 2018, it will be available in two levels: Kind News Junior (grades K-2) and Kind News (grades 3-6). Kind News can be ordered for an individual child (individual home subscription) or for a classroom. Also, starting in 2018, there will be five issues throughout the school year for both home and classroom subscriptions.
