Pet Food Pantry Assistance Grants

The RedRover Pet Food Pantry Assistance program assists charitable organizations that provide pet food to families in need. The goal of the RedRover Pet Food Pantry Assistance program is to award supplemental funds to eligible organizations so that they may continue to offer pet food assistance services in their communities.

Grant Program Details
Scope:  Grants of up to $2,000 are offered throughout the United States, and are awarded on a monthly basis. Eligible organizations can receive one grant per year. Grants are to be used solely for the purchase of pet food, cat litter and hay, except as specified below:

  • For existing pet food assistance programs, this grant may only be used towards the purchase of pet food, cat litter and hay.
  • For new pet food programs, up to 50% of this grant may go towards reasonable pet food related expenses such as; purchasing storage bins, securing rental space, or other costs directly associated with starting a pet food assistance program.

Please note that funding may not be used for any operating expenses, administrative costs, office supplies, marketing, fundraising, or for volunteer-related expenses.

Application Process
Grant applications are accepted each month from the 1st  until the 15th or until we have reached the maximum number of submissions for the month. If the maximum number of submissions is reached prior to the 15th, the program will close to new applications until the beginning of the following month. Applications are submitted electronically through the link below. Approved applicants will receive their RedRover Pet Food Pantry Assistance grant at the beginning of the following month and may re-apply the following year to be considered for additional funding.

Eligibility Guidelines

  1. Applicants must be recognized by the IRS as 501(c)(3) organizations.
  2. Each organization must have a screening process in place to confirm they are providing assistance to those in need.
  3. Requested funds must be used for eligible expenses only, each organization will need to keep track of expenses and provide an end-of-year report to RedRover to detail grant expenses.
  4. Grant recipients must submit all reports on time in order to be considered for consecutive year funding requests.

Please note that priority will be given to organizations with an operating budget of less than $5 million.
