Help us go BIG for animals on Thursday, May 4th!

The Big Day of Giving (BDOG) is a 24-hour online giving challenge that spotlights nonprofits in the Sacramento region.

On Thursday, May 4th, 2017, Big Day of Giving celebrates the spirit of giving by providing a platform for nonprofits to highlight their work in the community and connect with donors. Over this 24-hour period, donors have the chance to learn about various nonprofits and support them through donations.

Big Day of Giving has raised more than  $16 million dollars for Sacramento nonprofits from more than 36,000 donors all over the world. In 2016, RedRover’s first year participating in BDOG, we raised more than  $8,000 to support our programs!

This year, we hope to go even further and raise $15,000 to help animals in crisis. Since this year is also our 30th anniversary, we’ve set some ambitious goals for the next five years ahead. We aim to:

  • Reach 40,000 more children through our empathy-based RedRover Readers program, bringing our total to 86,000.
  • Grow our RedRover Responders volunteer corp to more than 5,000.
  • Ensure that there are pet-friendly domestic violence shelters in every state.

Here’s how you can help - now and on May 4th:

  1. Schedule a gift. Beginning on April 14, you can schedule your Big Day of Giving donation to occur on May 4th - so you don't have to worry about remembering on the big day.
  2. Bookmark the donation page. You can make a donation to RedRover (starting as small as $15) on May 4th at Bookmark this page and return anytime between midnight and 11:59 pm on May 4th to make a donation.
  3. Spread the word. Tell your friends, and post about it on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #BDOG2017. With your support, we can make this a day to remember!

Your donations will help us bring more animals from crisis to care. Please join us in reaching our goal of raising $15,000. Together, we can make an even bigger difference for animals in crisis and the people who love them!

Thank you for your support in creating a more compassionate world for animals and people!
