Puppy Mills and Cruelty
RedRover Responders provides temporary sheltering for animals removed from puppy mills and situations of cruelty, neglect or hoarding. RedRover Responders volunteers have provided care, comfort and compassion for thousands of these animals, giving them a second chance at happy lives with loving families.
For example, in August 2009, we cared for 550 dogs rescued from a Texas puppy mill. Most of the dogs were severely matted, suffering from infected wounds and parasites, and had never known life outside their wire cages.
